Makka Groups of Companies is family-owned, Peshawar-headquartered, and has never taken outside capital. This is how it grew, what it stands for, and what it can actually do.
The group story
From one agency to six businesses.
Makka Groups traces back to a pharmaceutical distribution business the family started in Peshawar in 2000; Makka Agency, its FMCG distributor, followed in 2006. Twenty-six years on, it's six businesses — four in distribution and trade, one in real estate, one retail network in build — still family-owned, family-run, with no outside capital.
Growth has followed one rule: capacity first, territory second. Warehousing, cold storage and fleet are built ahead of the volume that will use them — the reason multinational principals like Unilever, FrieslandCampina Engro, PepsiCo and National Foods onboard without a service gap, all served from infrastructure the group owns outright.
The same discipline moved the group into construction. Makkah Estate builds inside DHA Peshawar's approval framework, on a single turnkey contract from plot survey to handover. In 2020 the group licensed Muzakkah General Trading LLC in Dubai, adding a re-export base with direct access to Gulf and Far East suppliers.
Makka Groups today operates from Peshawar, Hayatabad, Islamabad and Dubai, with teams in warehousing, field sales, logistics and construction, and long-standing appointments with ten brand principals. What it sells a principal isn't reach alone — it's a documented, computerised chain of custody from their depot to a shelf in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

2000
Pharmaceutical distribution begins in Peshawar
The family's first venture — pharmaceutical distribution — lays the operating groundwork that Makka Agency and the businesses that follow are built on.
2006
Makka Agency was founded in Peshawar
The group turns to FMCG, launching Makka Agency as a distribution agency serving retail and wholesale trade across Peshawar city.
2008
Unilever Pakistan appointment
Makka Agency is appointed an authorised Unilever Pakistan distributor, adding modern trade and HoReCa to its channel mix.
2013
Shakir & Associates and the Hayatabad facility
A second company is established with warehousing in the Industrial Estate, Hayatabad, extending the group into food, dairy, poultry and packaging categories.
2016
Makkah Estate begins building in DHA Peshawar
The group enters residential construction and real estate development as a delivery partner to DHA Peshawar.
2019
Makka Distributors Pvt. Ltd. opens in Islamabad
The group extends beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into the capital region, distributing for Frito-Lay and PepsiCo International.
2020
Muzakkah General Trading LLC, Dubai
An international sourcing and export arm is licensed in Dubai, connecting the group's supply chain to global markets.
2026
Barkat Consortium (Pvt.) Ltd.
The group launches its retail arm, opening the first of more than 100 shops planned across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Dedicated chilled and frozen handling from the Hayatabad Industrial Estate facility, with recorded stock rotation at every transfer.
Fleet
Group-owned delivery vehicles on fixed daily routes across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the capital region.
Coverage
Peshawar, Hayatabad and the wider KP trade, plus Islamabad and the northern region.
Systems
Computerised order booking, live stock pricing, route planning and delivery confirmation — one format across all distribution companies.
Team
Field sales, warehouse operations, logistics and construction teams reporting into a single group management structure.
Business ethics
Where we hold the line.
We do not compete on undercutting a principal's trade terms. Pricing discipline in the field protects the brand as much as it protects us.
Stock is rotated first-in-first-out and short-dated product is withdrawn, not pushed. Cold-chain integrity is not negotiable on any line.
Contracts, licences and tax obligations are held current in every jurisdiction we operate in, including the UAE.
We do not make claims about coverage, capacity or delivery record that we cannot evidence from our own systems.
